As a project manager with five years of experience leading digital transformation projects, I’ve learned that communication is far more than just relaying updates—it’s the art of aligning diverse perspectives, managing expectations, and turning misalignment into collaboration. While a well-crafted project plan provides direction, it’s effective communication that ensures everyone—from team members to key stakeholders—shares the same vision and understands their role in success. A recent project highlighted how intentional communication not only resolved stakeholder conflict but also kept the project on track and delivered results that exceeded expectations.

Kunyu Wang I think what you are highlighting is how communication helps manage misalignment in practice.

I think the real challenge isn’t sharing updates, it’s more in making sure people interpret them the same way and act accordingly.

"It is an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem. For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much -- the wheel, New York, wars and so on -- whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man -- for precisely the same reasons."
