In a recent project, we faced pressure to deliver quickly while also needing to ensure the solution would be scalable and sustainable long-term. Certain decisions that would speed up delivery risked creating rework or technical limitations later.

How have you approached similar situations where short-term deadlines conflict with long-term quality, and what frameworks or criteria do you use to guide those decisions?

Hi Bruce Buryo, try not to avoid the trade-off. Instead, make it visible.
When speed impacts quality, put both options on the table with the consequences. That way it becomes a conscious decision, not something that just happens.

In some cases, moving fast makes sense, as long as there’s a clear plan to address the impact later.
