Hello,

I have failed the first try of the PMP exam; the People Domain was above target, however the Process and Business Domains were below target.

I have studied through a Udemy course and did Mock tests also through Udemy course.

The main difficulties i faced during the exam were:

1- to handle the time for each question, and for each section as i had to end it manually because i did the exam online;

2- the complexity and the hard vocabulary used in the questions which were more difficult than the Mock practice tests.

3- the difficulty in choosing one right answer as i found often that two answers seemed correct.

What do you suggest as a plan for the reatek exam? Does the PMI Study Hall help in my situation ?

Thank you

Bahjat, I highly recommend you do practice exams and focus on the domains you scored lowest. PM PrepCast has a solid simulator, and they provide rationale for all answers. They do have practice exams per domain, and overall. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Thanks, Bahjat, for asking this question.

I also failed the exam on first attempt a week ago.

I am planning the retake next month. Many people have suggested either PrepCast or Study Hall, I might add either one or both to the study mix of my mock practice. to enable me get use to the exam time constrain and the exam scenario-based questions.

Time management is key. As an Authorized Training Instructor for the PMP and CAPM credentials, I work my enrollees through the time required. You will have about 75 seconds for each question; the strategy is to spend 30 seconds max on each question, flag the ones you might know, but will need more time on, and come back to them ONLY during your second time around on the questions. Your third time around should be for questions you do not know, and by then, you should have 71% in the bag.
Works all the time.
Feel free to reach out to me if you need more guidance; glad to help my colleagues.

Hi, firstly reading & understanding the PMBOK is key. PMI Study Hall (this is a 3-month subscription) is also a great resource and helped me to prepare (I passed on my third try). Using the PMI resources is far more beneficial than any courses on other platforms. However, for someone starting out in Project Management I recommend the Project Management Foundation series on LinkedIn Learning.
