Globalization (acc. to Wikipedia: process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas and other aspects of culture) - how are you impacted by globalization in your projects and how do you use and exert globalization on others?
I see 3 views, which do you see relevant in your project working environment:
1. globalization as bringing own values, standards, procedures etc. to other countries and expecting them to follow
2. globalization as a process of negotiating collaboration respecting all values, standards, procedures etc
3. globalization as being forced to follow other values, standards ... Saving Changes...

Positively looked, Globalization is allowing us to share best practice and lesson learn on so many complex scenario that it really helps us doing more effective analysis, planning and especially risk assessment
On the other hand, some it's difficult to challenge some process when it's 'viewed' as global standard even though it's not fully fit for purpose in local context.
While there is no quick answer, but I believe getting more engaged in both formal and informal platform will actually enrich the PMs especially on planning and risk management. Moreover, it will contribute in standardizing process for some domain which have not applied PM process effectively earlier

Thanks, Rubaiyyaat,
your positive view expresses the benefits of diversity, of different viewpoints and practices that enrich an organization's range of capabilities.
And yes, it is risky if an existing global standard is not adapted continuously learning from new local experiences. Sometimes, local circumstances could be viewed as in-mature and then good practices could improve the local situations.

I have been a part of mutual globallization in program and project management in these areas: talent management, daily operations, and procurement management of third party applications.
To be able to meet the specialized staffing needs of the organization (specific mainframe programming language and database as well as full stack capability), we had to expand our recruitment efforts beyond our existing local talent pool. This effort brought a diverse group of talented programmer analysts from different cultures who were able to help us in delivering our product.
Third party applications (vendor based programs) could be purchased from vendors whose home offices could be outside the United States. This brings a different flavor in terms of contracting, help desk support, scheduling, etc.
It was definitely a mutual understanding and shared enriched learning experience for all parties as were able to exchange our thoughts productively with the end goal of completing the project successfully. Saving Changes...

Globalization means opportunity. I am locating in Argentina, South America, and from last 25 years I am working in multi national projects with people of more than 70 different countries around the world. All you mention in your post could be valid and you can find a mix into each project. But it fully depends on the organizational culture. What is key is to understand which part of your organization you are willing to globalize.

Thanks Sergio,
understand you are looking at what globalization means for you, being able to connect and work to hubs of work, and that is very positive. The cultural adaption you mention can take different forms: you (and I) adapting to a 'global' culture or establishing this global culture either for standardization or for diversification.
Sorry for taking some time to come back on this.
