Hi Members,

If i would like to create fresh Discussion Group for PMO, what should i do ? Please help, bcoz i find two PMO discussion Groups not much active, I have recently posted a query in PMO Mystique not sure how much support will be there, hence i'm asking this question.

Your inputs / ideas will be very helpful. Inshort i'm very much interested in touchbase with PMO Professionals and analyse more PMO related topics.

Thanks. Ganesh

I am curious about the answers that you will get Ganesh.

I just hope that projectmanagement.com has a tagging mechanism that will auto-classify or auto-find topics and auto-display by pre-created sections on the discussion board and/or elsewhere via tagging. I hope that this feature will be available soon.

Hi Arlene, Thanks :)

Not sure why Projectmanagment.com is not allowing to create the discussion group ?

1. I see more members activiely participating in "Project Managment Central" than any other group, So I doubt if i post a question in PMO related discusion Groups i will get reply.

2. At any given point of time first top 10 discussions only getting displayed, if anyone posting new questions the last one comes down, due to this i find I get very less replies, not only me hope it applies to all.

Is there any idea that we can suggest for Projectmanagment.com, who is running that ?

Thanks. Ganesh

Hello fellow Project Managers & Ganesh,

Thank you for bringing this question up because we definitely need some fresh questions and freedom to post new discussion questions.
I would like to bring in a new topic referring to :

Future Project Managers VS Project Managers

As a student near graduating, who would be adventurous enough and willing to mentor/train a student with intentions of hire? there is plenty of new blood out in the world seeking the opportunity to engage with a seasoned PM team to allow our knowledge to flourish with hands on experience. I am ready to do this thing!!

Any brave takers?

I am in San Antonio, TX

Fellow PMI members,

I believe that we need a place to communicate such as this thread for example. Sharing and communicating what is going on in your career or maybe how your career seeking is going is a necessity for healthy growth. I have connected with 50 members, but how will this help? if the website lacks a specific grouping for specific cities or states. If there was a thread on PMI where members could connect better to meet in their own city might be most supportive if those people are willing to mentor new comers. I see that we can email here but most people are from other countries. It is not easy to find people from my city. I wonder if members should be able to log in via their own city or choose a city and connect more directly?
what do you all think?

Hi Sonia,

Thanks for your kind initiative. Indeed knowing about City/Country will be very useful.

Apart from that:

1. I'm more interested in PMO related discussions but I see in Projectmanagment.com only active thread is "Project Management Central". In this group all most all varieties of Project related discussions were happening, and there is no Classification. Because of this all my posts doesn't stay for not more than 1 day. That makes no room for getting the appropriate answer.

2. On an average this :"Project Management Central" group gets 15 to 20 posts, at any given point of time we are able to see only new 10 entries. This is the big bottleneck, there is a chance your post can;'t be seen by right member how can potentially respond.

I feel PMI & Project mangment.com should look into this and come out with proper classification of Group so that the person who post the question in appropriate discussion group can get the right people to answer. (Eg: "PMO Discussion Group", people who interested on PMO activities will only enter, others wont, that will result in less traffic of entries and more focused answers).

Thanks.

Hi Ganesh,

You have some great thoughts going on that would help tailor the website in a more convenient way. So yes, and I realize that there is a link to connect to our individual local chapters but if I want to communicate with a specific person in another state or country then I should easily be able to click into that chapter to find the local members of that specific place. We shouldn't have to belong to that chapter but because we are members then we should be allow access to any chapter globally.

Reason being is because it is too hard to find someone and even if I know their name it doesn't always show up in our person finder. So if we could just go directly to their chapter would be much more convenient.

Thanks for your thoughts Gadesh

Hi Sonia,

Thanks for your reply, thats also novel idea what project managment.com can look into.

Indeed to summarize we are looking forward :
1. People finder to more filters to connect and network.
2. Creating proper Discusion Group to channelise the post properly.
3. This will make more focus on the particular gorup.

Any idea, how do i reach this message to Admin of Projectmanagment.com ?

Thanks
Ganesh
