I think I’ve updated my PMI community profile more than five times already. A thought came to mind this afternoon. Beyond the opportunity to meet colleagues, network, receive job and speaking opportunities, what are the other benefits of having a PMI profile? Is there more to it that I might be overlooking?
Maybe I’m missing something. Your thought, please.

hello Akin Fadare I think it also helps build visibility and credibility within the community over time.
A lot of opportunities do not come only from the profile itself, but from consistent participation, discussions, and how people start associating you with certain topics, experiences, or perspectives.
Once that happens, people naturally start visiting your profile, where they can also see your certifications, achievements, experience, and other contributions. That visibility can definitely open the door to more opportunities over time.
I also like that when you visit someone’s profile, especially someone active within PMI or volunteering initiatives, you can discover their participation, and even possible volunteer roles or communities where you may want to contribute and give back as well.
Additionally, people can see the specific contributions that a person has made in terms of content and decide whether they would like to contact them for an interview, a study, collaboration, mentoring, speaking opportunities, or other professional initiatives. Saving Changes...
Lissette Indhira Pimentel Sosa, Thank you for the detailed explanation. I do sincerely appreciate your perspective. The question just crossed my mind, and I decided to ask. Thanks!

From my perspective, currently profiles become more than just an 'executive resume', they turn into a form of persistent character progression, creating both the opportunity and self-motivation to continuously develop and advance one's professional career.
Effectively updating profiles across all modern professional platforms can, in many ways, be viewed as a form of gamification, for good or for bad.

Vadim Grepan, “a form of persistent character progression." That’s a unique perspective. I never thought of updating my profile as a show of character. Thanks for providing this unique perspective. Akin
