No longer in a project management role ?

James Q Professional Development Director| PMI Vietnam Chapter

I can no longer find the definition and description of the ROLE OF A PROJECT MANAGER in the 7th and 8th editions of the PMbook, unlike in the 6th edition. Can anyone explain why?

James, in my opinion, this change reflects modern project environments influenced by Agile and hybrid ways of working, where leadership and accountability are often shared among teams rather than controlled by a single project manager. As a result, the traditional standalone section describing the role of the Project Manager was reduced or integrated into broader concepts such as leadership, stewardship, and performance domains.
