People tend to confuse these two terms and sometimes use them synonymously. In my view Creativity is the process of thinking outside of the box and coming up with diverse, unique but seemingly illogical ideas. I have a fairly clear definition of creativity and innovation to propose and it well matches with yours.
CREATIVITY is how you come up with some new ideas, concepts, not validated, not evaluated both on the technical and business side. I used to say that CREATIVTY is the way you have got some seeds in your hands.
INNOVATIVE PROJECT is when you evaluate those concepts/ideas and decide that one or more is(are) worth the effort to go further in a development phase. Those projects have different maturity levels regarding to their outputs/deliverable but they all have one goal: progress on both the technical and business side. If one side fails or got stuck then the project should be killed. This requires a special kind of project managers able to deal with the high level of uncertainty, risks and the competencies required on the business side. I personally use a portfolio approach to innovative projects management in order to soften tit.
INNOVATION is nothing else but putting the results of the projects on the market and having clients. INNOVATION is when an INVENTION (meaning the deliverable of an innovative project) is meeting a market and clients. Saving Changes...

I recently attended a session on Creativity and Innovation. The presenter explained it well..
He said Creativity is when you come up with something new.. we were told to create a model with craft materials to depict the climate change. Innovation on the other hand he said when you already have something and you think of building creatively on it. In this case he gave an example of a pen and he asked us the various scenarios where we can use this pen other than to write, this he said was innovation :) Saving Changes...
