Hi everyone, I am preparing for CAPM exam.

Though I have PMI resources, I chose Rita Mulachy's CAPM exam prep book for my preparation. I am studying 5 pages per day and trying to be consistent in it.

Also, I am listening to Projectified Podcast everyday and working on 15-20 CAPM questions daily using Pocket Prep while maintaining a error log book parallely.

Kindly guide me with any other tasks which I need to involve myself for the preparation.

Thank You,

Hello, Your preparation strategy is highly structured and discipline-oriented. The consistency of your daily routine, combined with the error log, is excellent for building a solid foundation. To optimize your preparation and ensure you match the specific demands of the actual exam, consider adding these three targeted actions:

  • Align with the ECO (Examination Content Outline): The CAPM exam is strictly mapped to the four domains of the official CAPM ECO (Project Management Fundamentals, Predictive Methodologies, Agile Frameworks, and Business Analysis). Ensure your study guide and practice questions explicitly cover all four areas, particularly Business Analysis, which is heavily weighted.
  • Transition to Full-Length Simulations: While 15–20 daily questions are great for retention, you need to build stamina for the actual test. Schedule at least two or three full-length, 150-question practice exams under timed conditions to master your pacing (3 hours total).
  • Leverage Official PMI Resources: Since you already have them, use the official PMI CAPM practice questions or simulators closer to your exam date. This will familiarize you with the specific phrasing, tone, and question syntax that PMI uses, which can differ slightly from third-party tools.

Keep maintaining that error log—it is your most valuable asset for closing knowledge gaps. Best of luck with your preparation.

Check PM PrepCast for simulation practice exams. Try to practice as much as you can per domain and overall. Good Luck!

You already have several strong habits in place: consistency, daily practice questions, an error log, and continuous exposure to project management concepts through the Projectified Podcast.

My suggestion would be to periodically validate your study plan against the CAPM Exam Content Outline rather than against the number of pages completed.
The objective is not simply to finish a preparation book, but to ensure adequate coverage of all exam domains.

Your error log is likely to become one of your most valuable assets.
Look for recurring patterns, as they often reveal knowledge gaps more effectively than individual incorrect answers.

I would also encourage you to introduce mock exams as your preparation progresses.
They help assess not only knowledge, but also timing, concentration, and exam readiness.

One additional consideration is the pace of study.
Consistency is a major strength, but with a broad exam scope, it is important to ensure that earlier topics are being revisited regularly so that knowledge gained today is still available when you begin full exam simulations.

Reading builds knowledge.
Practice questions build understanding.
Mock exams build readiness.
The Exam Content Outline provides the roadmap that connects all three.

Best wishes for your CAPM preparation and future certification.
