Is there community support for advancing AI?

I have heard comments from several viewpoints regarding the expansion of AI, the impact on the workforce, and the positive and negative impacts that AI will have on society. In doing some research I found this article from the NIH National Library of Medicine --> The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on human society and bioethics.
