Interesting perspective.

One thought that comes to mind is that the most significant shift may not be the evolution of the project manager's role, but the evolution of the project itself as a system of decision-making and execution.

As agentic AI assumes a growing share of analysis, coordination, forecasting, and operational actions, the challenge increasingly becomes defining decision boundaries, governance mechanisms, and accountability structures rather than simply managing tasks and activities.

The question may no longer be how much work AI can perform, but how organizations ensure that autonomy remains aligned with objectives, constraints, and human responsibility.

In that context, governance may become as important as capability.
