Has anyone found advanced Planner training? We are debating between Smartsheet vs. Planner, and cannot find advanced, detailed training showing if Planner has the same capabilities (i.e. rollup, listing projects with links to each specific plan, dashboard capabilities).

Microsoft Planner is good for simple tasks and teamwork, but it does not have all features like rollups or detailed dashboards. Smartsheet has more advanced tools for managing many projects with links and dashboards.

If you need complex project views, Smartsheet might be better. But for easy and quick use, Planner works well.

If you are a beginner than Microsoft Planner training, you can try Microsoft’s official website and YouTube tutorials. They explain how to create plans, add tasks, assign people, and use labels and checklists. Also, websites like LinkedIn Learning and Udemy have good courses with step-by-step lessons. These will help you understand how to organize work and use Planner’s main features.

Yes, advanced training exists on platforms like Skillsoft, but it specifically requires Planner Premium (Plan 3) to match Smartsheet's capabilities. Capability Match: Planner Premium natively tracks multiple project links and rollups via the Roadmap feature, but it requires Power BI to build advanced dashboards, unlike Smartsheet's built-in widget system.
