An excellent question.

I would argue that the challenge is not balancing AI recommendations with human judgment, accountability and ethics, because these are not equivalent responsibilities.

AI can inform decisions by expanding analysis, identifying patterns and challenging assumptions.
Accountability and ethical responsibility, however, remain inherently human.

The real question is how to design decision governance so that AI strengthens judgment without diluting responsibility.
Trustworthy AI is not about replacing human decision-makers, but about enabling better-informed decisions while preserving clear accountability for their consequences.

Perhaps the future of project management will be defined less by how much AI we use and more by how well we govern its use.

I agree. Accountability, ethics and final responsibility must always remain with project professionals.
