It's a classic practice having year end performance review in most of the companies.

Yes. Being agile, nimble, fast holds true for performance reviews. If we want to build our talent or develop staff, we need to provide a more frequent feedback than annual performance reviews. It would be easier to track and monitor one's progress towards a goal. You can also easily recover if you get off track.

Annual performance reviews are just too far out in the horizon that it is easy to forget what has been accomplished or not unless you maintain an ongoing daily recording of what you have done or not done yet. It is process oriented, I agree.

I am looking forward to more companies embracing this approach and best practices that we can all learn from.
