As a project manager or project professional, have you been able to measure how much time AI has saved you or your team members? If so, how did you measure it and which tasks saw the biggest improvements?

Also when creating project estimates, do you take these AI-driven time savings into account?

Has it changed your estimation approach?

Great questions.
Perhaps the key issue is not only whether AI saves time, but how it changes the composition of project effort.
Time saved in one activity may be reinvested in validation, stakeholder engagement, or better decision-making rather than reducing overall project effort.
That suggests estimation may increasingly need to account not just for efficiency gains, but for how project effort is being redistributed across the work..

I do take AI-driven efficiencies into account, but only after they've been demonstrated consistently. Rather than assuming a fixed percentage of time savings, I compare effort before and after AI adoption for specific activities, such as drafting documentation, preparing meeting summaries, or creating initial project artifacts, and adjust estimates based on actual team performance.

What has changed most for me is that estimates now include time for reviewing and validating AI-generated outputs. AI often reduces execution time, but quality assurance and human judgment remain essential parts of the overall effort.
