Talent Management has become stereotypical and monotonous. There aren't any surprises for the talented individuals to keep them guessing or interested. So, can we add colour to it by suggesting innovative ways of Talent Management? Saving Changes...
I wrote a detailed response to this question of yours but somehow I lost it all due to poor connectivity. will try t re-capture my thoughts once again.
Talent Management is not very interesting not due to the reason the discipline itself is not interesting, but because those who teal with talent management are stereotyped and want to maintain status quo. I have very serious observations on how HR professionals deal with Talent Management. They take out all the fun and make this otherwise interesting discipline into something which is nothing more than a labor.
To make it more interesting and innovative, we need to be open minded and creative. Creativity has to exist if some innovation has to be realised. To invoke creativity n talent management, you can start with periodic brainstorming sessions with employees where they can creatively suggest how their talent can be rewarded. You will be amazed how practical and interesting some of those suggestions are, you would love to adopt them in practice and make the whole management of talent n your organization more fun. Adel had raised an interesting point here, a lot of companies have been raising blog, Discussion, articles and journals, KM, Alumni, communities and such forums of late. I have been part of these but very little activities...particularly in India. Nations like USA, UK, Canada, Australia are doing well here. Social capital in India needs to come a long way which in turn can keep the talents lingering for a few more years. Saving Changes...
