More and more business promotes PMP certification for their project manager. For example like Landis & Gyr “The PMP certification validates the experience and know-how we bring to each of our customers.”
Do you have any such insider reason you would be free to share? Business reasons why an organization would want PMP certification for its PM team?

I think Bruce and Eduard hit the most important points.

(1) it sets a baseline level of knowledge and education for PMs while also conveying a specific image/reputation to clients, and

(2) it automatically puts into place an ongoing education / learning system for the company (if it didn''t already have one) through the re-certification process via PDUs and provides incentives for PMs to stay on top of topics and developments relevant to their responsibilities and job.

It''s win-win for all parties involved. The PM gets a marketable certification to their name, the company elevates it''s workforce reputation, the clients get a certain degree of comfort in the quality they will receive, PMI grows it''s reach/value, etc
