Hello Salomon, I would recommend you implementing a tool to Support Project management such as Jira, for example. These tools allow you to easily implement workflows for different kind of projects (agile, tradicional), automatic synchronization with Project and knowledge management tools. Of course this would be complementary to the development of PMO procedures and templates.

Dear Luis Fernando. Thank you very much for your comments. I will consider this tool when we will selecting the tools to manage the projects. I found an interesting article http://www.iiste.org/Journals/index.php/EJ...le/11753/12110. I started idenitfying and interviewing the stakeholders in the company. This to know what are their expectation regards the new PMO.

Hello Salomon,

interviewing the stakeholders in the company is surely a good start. Besides this I will also encourage you to look at nature of projects in your company. This will give you better insight as to what really a PMO''s role will be then. How well PMO can be assisting these projects achieve success. What factors PMO should be based on...and many such answers

The first thing to take into account is to do that an strategic reason must be in place. After that you have to analyze your enterprise architecture (you can use Peter´s Seven S model as a checklist) to be sure the organizational impact has been evaluated. And the most important thing is to clear understand what a PMO is and the type of PMO best suited for your organization. I understand you are searching for other type of things, but if you do not start with this type of things you will fail.

Dear Saurabh. Thanks for your suggestions. This kind of questions I will use when we finally decide to implement the PMO! Thank you!

Dear Sergio. I agree with you and I used the 7S model. Its important assess the organization first. Then we decide to implement the PMO and everything else it takes. We are evaluating but everything indicates that we will implement it! Thank you very much for your guide.
