This could be a reference for you.

Best Regards,

Thank you Saurabh for the PMO reading tip. I am actually leading our Operations PMO while I am more interested to learn how to spread PM best Practices across our entire organization.

having set-up several PMOs in various industries, start with exploring what standards, template and tools will work for your company within its appropriate industry. Find what works best and avoid trying to fits "square pegs in round holes".

I would consider this also as a project in terms of
1.Charter that explains the need and vision, benefits
2.Write the scope statement
3.Defining roles and responsibilities
4.Identify stakeholders and understand the current scenario
5.create a repository of templates,best practices,lessons learned

Thanks

Thank you Bala,

I like the Charter idea to initiate the CoE and creating a project repository is indeed in our plans.

Do you have experience of proven company project maturity assessment model ?

In our organization, we have well defined Global Delivery Process (GDP). The GDP is defined by adopting the best practices from PMP, ITIL, PRICE2, TOGAF, ISO and CMM. At the broad level, we have three practices SAP, Application Management, and Solutions.

Each of these practices has Core Delivery processes and Technical Libraries.

Then you can concentrate on building best practices and standard templates based on Industry Standards, Bodies of Knowledge, Quality Standards, and Maturity Model.

Building of CoE requires great efforts and sound process management SMEs.

Hi Prolay,

Thanks for your guidance, our project model is very much inspired from Prince2.
Do you utilize a specific project maturity model to assess evaluate your organization maturity ?
