Hi everyone,
i''m new in the community and I do need some help to understand where to begin.
a bit about me :
I setup a company that regroup two pole, one is a trading in china.
the second pole is a wholesale website in the fashion industry.
this company is my working experience for the last 7 years now.
I do not have any degree in the field of project management, so i had to learn everything day by day.
i do considering managing my project but certainly not as you do everyday.
2015 was the hardest year since the opening, i do want to have some academic knowledge.
i do hope to do better with my company but if i can''t "save It" i would like to continue in this field. ( project management in the fashion industry )
Here is the questions i have in mind :
Important thing is i want to study online
1- Is there a specific degree or school for my field ?
2- Is there a ranking of school by contents/quality education/accreditation/price ?
3- where can i find a good explanation for the "right" accreditation i should look for ?
4- Does someone without real degree in the field would have to take more classes ?
(maybe I’m wrong but I do scare that some school will try to sell me more lesson for “undergraduate Person” to push me to take more credit hours that I don''t necessarily need)
5- What kind of personal investment a PMP would take ? (I mean hours of work everyday)
6- in your opinion which school I should choose to get a “good” degree ?
Any advice or opinion would be highly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Noreddine. Saving Changes...

Welcome to the PM arena!
In order to obtain a PMP certificate you need to prove 4.500 hours of project management experience and pass an exam. The exam requires a training course of around 30 hours plus another 100 hours of studying. It is not an easy test, but you may pass it easily if you study it well. Saving Changes...

Hi Magroud,
imho you should go first to pmi.org and seek for informations and guidelines there.
Becoming a member gaines lot of benefits for (espacially you want to become a pmp later on).
For instance you could find severeal opportunitys to volunteer there and collect expereinces in the field of project management.
Well, it is hardly to answer from distance but i would say a formel PM degree from any university or somewhat like that is not hte right thing for you.
I guessa worldwide known and respected PM standard and its certification like PMI''s would do the better job in your case.
Regarding your question about the need efoort to gain PMP, well this depends on your learning preferences and behaviors and how much time you could effort every day.
Most aspirant would need 2 to 3 months while dedicating 2 to 4 hours daily on preparation.

I suspect, Maground, that the PMP designation is not widely recognized in the fashion industry.
While the journey to a PMP will certainly be a learning and growing opportunity, you might find yourself explaining what it represents, if you put it on your résumé. Saving Changes...

Magroud,
You should learn the general principles of Project Management in this website as well as PMI. I recommend you become a PMI member. Watch on-demand webinars that match what you''re looking for. Browse the network of people in this website looking for people with fashion industry expertise: connect and interact with them.
Look at: http://fidm.edu/en/majors/apparel industry management/. They have an Apparel Industry Management Program.
I hope this helps. Saving Changes...

Is there a PMI Chapter near where you are? You don''t always have to be a member to attend events, so it might be worth checking out the situation locally and starting from their recommendations. Saving Changes...
