I like a good brainstorming session to come up with a lot of interesting ideas. Saving Changes...
The team I am on is in a "cube farm" full of A+ personalities. When someone has an idea to improve a process or add value to our project, they just kind of stand up and say "Hey, what about ...." and that starts a discussion (albeit lighthearted), then someone will pop up and add to the idea..next thing you know; we have improved the process and usually have had a good laugh too. I encourage this type of open dialog in the team and usually take a note or two so I can go back after the discussion for more clarification. Then we "clean" up the idea and run it by the appropriate stakeholder(s) for their buy-in. It's been a pretty good recipe for me, I wish you success, the funnest part are the various personalities in the mix; that's what keeps it from getting boring! Saving Changes...

I recommend brainstorming sessions that utilize "affinity diagrams" to organize ideas into meaningful groupings. The affinity diagram process is interactive and works best when conducted by a cross-functional team, including stakeholders.
You also need to give your team the space and the opportunity to expressive their unique creativity at the workplace (e.g. design t-shirts or badges associated with the project or milestone, host talent night/game night, office space decoration contests, etc.). These activities may appear frivolous, but actually provide a welcoming environment for team members to express their creative genius. Saving Changes...
