While they may not simulate the exam, they do provide a way of reinforcing your retention of the material. All the best.

Hey Guys,

i am sorry, but i would like to disagree in some parts.
Imho the PM Challenge questions are NOT a good tool for PMP exam preparations.
Please do not get me wrong, they are fun and they are goo to remember on a lot of PM aspects and may be good for repeating and not forgedding the most.
But in the regard for PMP exam preparation they are more kind of waste of time from my point of view.
You can find that much (free and paid) sample questions and mock exams out here which are exactly like the questions in the real exam (while the PM Challenge questions often are not like that!), so there is no need to use lot of time for the PMChallenge ones ...
Well, that is of course just my opinion.

And @Maen, i am sorry, but that kind of generalized advise is not really helpfull and in this case it is just wrong, espacially for the PMP exam preparation you have to focus on the right material and this ones which are really helpful.

I agree with you Markus but to a certain extent - PMChallenge Questions helped me personally revise what I read in the PMBOK. In terms of their benefit to the actual PMP Exam, it contributes 1% only if not less. PMP will test your ability pfrom the practical side, not your ability to memorize what is in the book.

Hi,

My humble views. I think everyone is correct in their own aspect.

As we are talking about a PMP examination which is under the PMI bracket, it is logical that PMBOK has to be understood and in detail. The various best practices that I have come across preach the same thing but to go for a PMI exam, one would need to know the terminology, the structure etc. So, study that, and help books or guides such as that from Rita would help a lot to provide the structure..

However, a good part of the PMP also assesses practicality and pragmatism.. ie I remember the questions did not ask specifically what tools for a process was but how it was applied.. perhaps the only thing that can be committed to rote memory are the formulae for measuring and controlling progress.. i.e. CV/SV etc.

In this manner, nothing substitutes for experience, and PMChallenge, simulation questions etc do help in this aspect.. so u need to marry both the theory and the practicalities I feel..

Just my thoughts thanks for reading..
