I'm working on an internal project for my employer to better define our project manager promotion criteria. We have a current process but want to compare to the way other companies, big or small, are handling it. If anyone is aware of where I could get similar information, I'd appreciate it! Saving Changes...
Your questions go back to November 2001 and 2005, I am interested have you both resolved and have in place a process for defining project manager promotion criteria?
My thougts on project manager promotion criteria are:
- Project Management experience [how many years]
- Business discipline [Applications, Infrastructure, Architecture etc]
- Small, Medium, Large projects and value - i.e. below 1m, over 1m, strategic or internal projects
- Leadership and management skills [how effective]
- Success and good professional reputation
- Certification
Some examples.
