Hi all,
I’m in Australia at the moment, writing on a diploma thesis for a German degree in applied computer science and digital media at the FH Furtwangen.
The objective of the thesis is to analyze how multimedia projects have been managed so far, which methods of other industries (e.g. software development, movie production, etc.) might be suitable and/or how these would need to be adapted in order to suit multimedia projects.
Thus, I would be interested in your opinion, with regards which project management methods they use in multimedia, whether there are any differences in methodologies from different industries, especially whether a specific method has to be found for multimedia, or whether project management is project management, no matter what industry.
I would kindly ask you to share your opinion.
I can’t really find that much research material on this topic, and I’m also lacking required job experience and knowledge to make this thesis an industry-relevant paper without your help.
Thank you very much for your help.
Kind regards,
Stefan Hartweg Saving Changes...
One of my favorite aspects of attending project management seminars and classes is finding out what kinds of work everyone else is doing. And we are all together learning how to manage projects and share vocabulary.
I have worked with methodologies for software development, publications management, and construction/facilities management. While the nouns and tools may differ, the verbs and deliverables are pretty much the same.
To answer your question, project managment is project management. Saving Changes...
I am currently research project management in Web Development for my dissertation.
You may find some of my literature research interesting at my site - www.webbench.co.uk
I am looking at the distinct lack of project management measurement processes in web development environments.
Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you would like to chat further about it.
I feel there is quite a distinction to project management in these kinds of environments having worked as a developer for a number of years now. The environments and dynamic nature of the development do not allow for standard project management processes and my research is trying to fill a hole in academic publishing on the area.
I am also working on this topic for my Msc Thesis at the University Of Zimbabwe. Multimedia is relatively a new field and very little research has been done on this topic such that literature is not readily available. If there is anyone willing to share ideas on this topic please dont hesitate to contact me on [email protected] Saving Changes...
