Hello Guys,
some of you may wonder where this posting from yesterday went?
Well, i ahd to learn that since there are very new posting rules since last year, really NO links in the discuission board postings are allowed anymore.
And NO links means really NO links, not even such one which are pointing to pm.com propertys.
Somewhat strange imho, but ...well. Somewhat consequent on the other hand.
However, i hope just to ask (without any links!) is allowed.
So, if you wasn't be aware of the pm.com linkedin group yet, than please use the social share options/buttons right under the search function (i.e.) to find out.
I think we could grow at linkedin to one of the biggest and may be most active pm related groups there.

True, I thought of that. But I requested early December.
That's a nice holiday!
Double check with Rebecca, I believe she is the one handling the group if I am not mistaken.

I thought you are aware that Rebecca Braglio assists in issues with the community here because you participated in previous discussions where she was involved.

Markus,
thanks for the information. I have applied and am now looking forward to getting access and what I'll find once I'm processed.
Regarding posting links I have encountered the same situation in one of my posts. The people here have a strict "no links" policy in order to prevent spam, which I do really appreciate. I guess it also sometimes prevents people from sharing useful information, but screening posts is probably not done manually...
Best,
Thilo

Agreed Thilo, not practical to review links.
A good way is to provide google search terms which the user could plug in.

Hi Thilo,
thx for your comment.
Well, if i read right between the sentences than this is exactly what they do: managing links within postings manually ... that may be the reason why still a lot of such postings are online ...
Regards,
Markus

Hi Markus,
As Steven has informed above I have the same situation my request is still pending.
But I understand you point of view and think you are right about build strong on Linkedin.
Hello Glauco,
since LinkedIn changes its policys e few weeks ago now all group joining requests have to be moderated by the group administrator (which is Rebecca Braglio in this case, like Rami already mentioned).
There are no longer so called public groups possible where you just have could joined with a click (and the pm.com group was suchone before i think).
However, i am sure that Rebecca will promote all the request as fast as possible.

Thank You Markus, I will check it out and see what is the issue. I saw this sentence in the User Guidelines but I doubt they do not allow links that are useful for knowledge sharing, maybe they are referring to links that are irrelevant to the PM.
I will dig more into this.
As for LinkedIn page, I took time before they accept my request as well but it might be taking time now because they are on holidays. It is good they are strict in approval to join the group.
Hello Rami,
i could asure you, it is not only about links which are not related to PM.
It is all links, even such ones which are pointing to pm.com content (what really seems strange to me).
I had a little conversation with Rebecca about this and she confirmed that they do not want any kind of links in the postings since they want the conversations at pm.com and not elsewhere.
We will see like this will develope ...
Regards,
Markus

Hello Markus,
Yes, after you triggered this last week I had a conversation with Rebecca as well and she confirmed the same but I am not sure if people can comply 100% with this as you can't eliminate links at all. Almost every article I've seen contain hyperlinks. As you said, let us see how it will develop.

I joined Facebook, twitter and linkedin links but there is absolutely no useful activity on any one of them. moreover, I do not see how that can interface with projectanagement.com postings.
Hello Suhail,
well with the useful activity there it is the same like directly here on pm.com, i would say. It depends on all of us, on the community to generate useful activity there.
LinkedIn could be a great tool for promoting pm.com within the biggest business-related social network in the world, for example.
