Hello Guys,
some of you may wonder where this posting from yesterday went?
Well, i ahd to learn that since there are very new posting rules since last year, really NO links in the discuission board postings are allowed anymore.
And NO links means really NO links, not even such one which are pointing to pm.com propertys.
Somewhat strange imho, but ...well. Somewhat consequent on the other hand.
However, i hope just to ask (without any links!) is allowed.
So, if you wasn't be aware of the pm.com linkedin group yet, than please use the social share options/buttons right under the search function (i.e.) to find out.
I think we could grow at linkedin to one of the biggest and may be most active pm related groups there.

Markus,
thanks for the information. I have applied and am now looking forward to getting access and what I'll find once I'm processed.
Regarding posting links I have encountered the same situation in one of my posts. The people here have a strict "no links" policy in order to prevent spam, which I do really appreciate. I guess it also sometimes prevents people from sharing useful information, but screening posts is probably not done manually...
Best,
Thilo
Hi Thilo,
thx for your comment.
Well, if i read right between the sentences than this is exactly what they do: managing links within postings manually ... that may be the reason why still a lot of such postings are online ...

Markus Saving Changes...

Hello Rami,
i could asure you, it is not only about links which are not related to PM.
It is all links, even such ones which are pointing to pm.com content (what really seems strange to me).
I had a little conversation with Rebecca about this and she confirmed that they do not want any kind of links in the postings since they want the conversations at pm.com and not elsewhere.
We will see like this will develope ...
Regards,
Markus
Hello Markus,
Yes, after you triggered this last week I had a conversation with Rebecca as well and she confirmed the same but I am not sure if people can comply 100% with this as you can't eliminate links at all. Almost every article I've seen contain hyperlinks. As you said, let us see how it will develop. Saving Changes...
My major complaint about Linked In is that it is a giant harvesting field for recruiters, spammers, scammers, and other internet low-life types. I don't do Linked In for that reason. If they could somehow tighten up the security and privacy features, I might reconsider.

Hello John,
thx for your contribution.
I do completly understand what you are talking about and you are right for a lot of groups on LinkedIN.
On the other hand, LinkedIn has done some changes last year and is still working on this topics you mentioned.
The fact that there are no longer "open groups" allowed and every request to join a group has to be moderated may be one of this new features.
But there are also other examples for well administrated groups there. "I want to be a PMP"; founded by Oliver Lehmann would be such an example.
Wanna say, it depends on every one of us lastly what we wanna make out of it.
Just my 2 cents ...

I did join the LinkedIn group. I happened to reach out to Rebecca through Projectmanagement.com and she accepted my connection request and my group membership request. There is no reason why you cannot cross-link the artifacts across the communities. Saving Changes...

Since we got a lot new members here at pm.com since this thread was actual, i just want to bump it to the front, so also our new members had the chance to know about hte pm.com LinkedIn community as well:
To me LinkedIn is a general business network, where PMI and PM.com should be visible.
On the other hand Facebook is a personal network, even if lots of business make themselves more and more visible, some push it too far by maintaining a better site there than there own site.
A more transparent link between PM.com and linkedIn is a great idea. Saving Changes...
