Does anyone know of any good software packages that can track and manage projects. I would like it to work with MS Project and possibly project centeral. Additionally, if the package had some type of time tracking and/or resource planning that would be great.

Thanks,
Anthony

Hi Anthony,

Check out our Milestones Professional 2002 software. It works very well with MS Project.

You can see what it's all about here:

The page has a link to an overview movie which will run in your browser. Let me know what you think!

Hi Anthony,

If You would like to use MS Project as a base tool to manage Your project(s), then I suggest You to check this site:

You can find many 3rd party PM software information that might be linked to MS Project.

We are focusing on leveraging our current investment in tools and brining them all together, and wrapping them into a project management system that’s interacted with by using a basic web browser or the tools already in the PM’s kit.

Our user’s tools consist primarily of Microsoft Office, Project 2000 & our PM method. We think we can get a better project management solution for cheaper, and do it ourselves faster by using a combination of Microsoft Project Central & Microsoft SharePoint Team Services (comes with Office).

Microsoft SharePoint Team services is a team web site solution that provides functionality for document sharing, discussions, calendars, contacts, lists, lists, announcements, etc) and Project Central is mostly used by the team to collaborate on the schedule, report status and update progress against task work performed. It also allows for a big picture view into the overall project status. All information is stored in a web repository that can be accessed on your intranet, or across the internet.

Follow this link http://www.effectivelink.com/solutions/starter.html to see an example with some screen captures, it shows the integration possibilities with the products discussed above.

Concerto, by Speed To Market, utilizes MS Project to build individual project networks, lays on tools to turn them into rational schedules, and then uses web-based tools to sychronize the pipeline/portfolio of projects against resource capacity and to track and communicate project status.

And the best thing is that it is based on Critical Chain-based project management.
