It is a know fact that we need 60 PDUs to renew the certificate. Minimum number of Educational PDUs is 35 and no maximum amount is defined. Is it possible to fulfill 60 PDU requirement only by educational PDUs?

Please, read the CCR handbook available inside the PMI site. It is free for download. That is my recomendation because I have facing some situations where my PDU´s are approved but not applied and the answer was to read that book (while PMI Customer Care helped me a lot too)

Hello Wininda,

the straight answer to your question is: no, that isn't possible.
Please refer to the CCR Handbook like Sergio already mentioned.
Alternativly you may refer to my blog here on pm.com (unfortenatly it is not allowed to direct link to it).
I have shortly released a detailed blog entry about the CCR Changes valid since Dec 1st last year and which PDU's you need for minimum in which category's.
Hope this helps.

Regards,

Markus

Markus I beg to differ wit you on this. There is no upper limit to Educational PDUs and PMI clearly states in handbook that all 60 PDUs can be achieved from Education. According to new Talent Triangle, now these PDUS have to also be secured in the three categories of the talent triangle vertices. But my answer remains the same, YES, ALL 60 PDUs can be secured from Educational category.

A specific example of why Suhail is accurate is that you can earned as many PDUs as you can PROVIDED that you achieve the EXPLICIT required PDUs for each triangle skill sets.

so, if one educational provider can give you a training/certification that MEETS ALL talent triangle criteria - good for you!

Hey Markus,

I've been able to embed links into messages, both with and without HTML tags. I can simply copy your blog's link in the message.

If I want to call it something else, I use HTML tags.

Hi Stephane / Markus,

I do not know how to exactly embed using HTML - I can create a Hyperlink on a word document then name it whatever I want to but when I copy and paste it, it will paste the original website address.

For example, I have this interesting article:
http://www.constructionbusinessowner.com/t...a-economics-101

If I want to name the link:
Project Managers MBA-Economics

This will be more representable and neat but how can I either do a Hyperlink here with a customized name or HTML like Stephane mentioned.

Appreciate your feedback.

Hi all. This is a great question!

It is possible to fulfill the PDU requirement with 60 educational PDUs. While we offer PDUs in the area of Giving Back, it is not required that an individual volunteers, creates knowledge or works as a project manager. Please note that there is a requirement that an individual receives at least eight PDUs in each area of the Talent Triangle: Technical, Leadership and Strategic Business Management Skills.

More information can be found in the Continuing Certification Requirements System at https://ccrs.pmi.org/info/handbooksguides

Thanks!

I second Markus's feedback. It is not possible anymore to renew your certfication with 60 Educational PDU's. There is a new trangle to follow.

Kristin gave a great answer. Although I do work in the field and volunteer, I LOVE educational PDUs as I am continuing to gain project management knowledge, not just learn from the school of hard knocks (real life). Good luck.

Dear All,

First of all thank you very much for your kind corporation.

@Sergio, Yes, I read the handbook before raising this question and PMI help me too regarding this question.

@Markus, Regret to say that you are wrong. It is possible to earn 60 PDU only using educational PDUs. The three categories which need minimum number of PDUs are all fall under educational PDUs. Giving back PDUs has a maximum number but not a minimum number which means that it can be ‘0’. I went through your blog. It clarifies about giving back PDUs but it is not mentioned that it is mandatory to earn giving back PDUs.

@Stephane, thanks for the support given to locate the Markus’s blog.

@Kristin, Thank you and I agree with you. Thank you for your detailed email as well.

@Rami, Kindly refer to my reply to Markus’s feedback.

@Julia, Thanks!

Kind regards,
Wininda
