What does your Enterprise-wide Portfolio Governance encompass? How is it different from IT only Portfolio Governance? What elements did you include in your Enterprise-wide Portfolio Governance which are not included in your IT-only Portfolio Governance?

Thank you.

If you look at it from a bird's eye view, you will see that IT only Portfolio is a sub-set of Enterprise-wide Portfolio, or you may call it a sub-portfolio. Enterprise-wide Portfolio would include all the projects and programs of the whole enterprise and would provide a generic governance guideline for the whole Enterprise-wide Portfolio. It would be more strategic in nature and would be governed directly by organizational governance structure. The IT only Portfolio Governance would fall under Enterprise wide-Portfolio Governance and would only concern itself, again generically, with all the projects ad programs, which are included in or relate to IT Portfolio of the organization. This would also be strategic in nature but would only address IT strategy and not the overall organizational strategy directly.

From another angle, if you are trying to compare IT only Portfolios with non-IT Portfolios, you are still talking about sub-portfolios of Enterprise-wide Portfolio. One of the sub-portfolios could be IT, and there could be many other non-IT portfolios like Engineering, Construction, Mechanical etc etc. The hierarchy of governance will remain the same as explained in my earlier response.
