What features or functionality do you like or dislike in today's current PM tools? Are their certain pieces you would like to see? Are their features or functionality that would make your job easier?

I think tools should replace email and phone. So one space for everything related to the project and all team communication integrated in one. I would want to have a tool with a chat feature as well as sharing documents and being able to tell if someone has read the document, and a box for general comments. Also news flashes...this would be very useful. Its an area companies should invest in.

Angela, Your idea is a good idea but in my point of view not a very efficient one (The Chat) for all sorts of operations as it might lead to lots of misunderstandings between parties. In my opinion, an integrated tool is very useful if wisely used but can never replace or work better than human interactions: Phones, Meetings, Etc.

I am seeing a lot of comments about tools that can be tailored or customized for each project. Would it be beneficial as well for a tool to be able to handle both agile and waterfall methodologies as well?

What if that tool stored all the communication into the comments or discussion section? Then all of the "noise" if you will is being logged and stored regarding that task or project.
