I'm looking for a second PMI certification and PMI - PBA is one of those of my interest. anyway, before to take a final decision, I'd like to receive some feedback from people already involved in. Principal question are?
- I'm working on construction market, do you think would be useful in?
- is it necessary a strong IT preparation?
are there exam simulation like for PMP certification.
many thanks in advance for your help Saving Changes...

While I can't directly answer your questions, Fosco, I can tell you that we recently had a webinar on preparation for this certification that may be worth checking out. You can find it here:

There are also some comments below the webinar that may answer some of your questions.
Anyone else have some input that would help?

I have the certification. Besides my recomendation is following the comment from Rebecca here comes my thought (I am working as business analyst form the very begining of the profession and I have contribute with the IIBA and now with the PMI, I wrote articles for oficial publications and I have performed conferences from 2010 inside the PMI World Tour between other side. I tell you that because I hope to create critical mass around the certification - hehehehehe):
1-business analysis perform the role to solve business problems that emerges when needs of changes emerges. I have performed the role in software industries, goverment, retail, banking, health care, automotive and others.
2-BA is not related to IT. Your preparation must be based mainly in the PMBOK and the reference list. This linkedin group can help you a lot: PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) Prep Study Group
VERY IMPORTANT: do not forget to read all the certification related documentation inside the PMI site. IT IS CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR

I second Sergio. I have the PMI-PBA certification. BA role is not geared towards software alone and can be applied anywhere where there is a need to realize business goals/strategies successfully by delivering business value. BA translates the business requirements into something that can be clearly understood and executed by the project team's SME's.
PMI-PBA would be an value add and I suggest you to look into it.
Many thanks Suhail, i have already sent to you my email address
