We are trying to build on the extensive PM training that we gave to a group of 25 individuals across the organization by forming a Project Management Guild. The purpose of this group would be to start sharing Lessons Learned, common project risks, etc. to further develop their PM expertise. Has anyone ever done this, and can you provide some pointers?

First of all, it will cost money, not a lot, but it will cost.

One of the things I been involved with in the past is the creation of a PM Forum - you can call it guild if you want. You invite the PMs, and then provide a fee lunch, both figuratively, and acutally.

During the lunch time session, you might have a guest speaker (I've done a fair bit of that myself) to talk on a specific subject, and perhaps one or two of the PMs talk through their projects, warts and all. The obvious purpose of the session is to share good learning experiences, both positive and negative.

Honesty / integrity are paramount, and of course using a common way of doing things, so that everyone involved has a common starting position is alomst an imperative.

Hope that helps, if there are any further questions, do let me know.
