what software packages u have been using for project management activities viz. WBS creation, Scheduling, Costing, report generation etc. My requirement is for small & mid level projects costing 10 - 30 million USD

We use Primavera Enterprise version for schedules, SAP for all financials, and some in-house developed things for earned value, high-level dashboards, etc.

We use Primavera P6 - Project Management Software along with Primavera Risk, OPPM, Unifier, TeamMember, P6 Loader, TAPS, EPdashboards and datawarehouse and a number of other tools as applicable.

For WBS - to produce visuals; a colleague of mine like WBS Pro. I love Mind Manager.

For scheduling the leading are MS Project or Primavera but in your case - what you are calling as small project is mega for many so MS Project might be enough to handle it - depending on the level of details

The key is this a tool is only a tool - you can have the best tool and still is not enough. The key is your project management process
