Hardware Resource handling with MS Project

There are some resources like critical machines & equipment. They too are assigned work so that we can check their loading. Work allocation to such resources is limited to checking loading and planning accordingly. But during updation of timesheets, how to fill timesheets for such resources; rather how to avoid filling timesheet for such resources and yet getting proper work reports?
