Just thought I'd post this notice of my research here as I read through all the discussions. I am currently conducting a survey and further study into the application of benchmarking into web development environments.
I would be interested in opinions of my research area from readers here, and would also value any responses for the survey from any readers involved in web project management.
Thanks in advance,
Nigel Clarke

The application of benchmarking to Web Development
-------------->>>>>
The WebBench project at the University of York is investigating the maturity of project management techniques in use by web development organisations. The research is particularly focused on the value of benchmarking and measurement processes to such development organisations.
As a part of the project, we would be grateful if you could give around 10 minutes of your time to complete an online survey at
http://www.webbench.co.uk/survey
-------------->>>>>
The survey is investigating
- Which project metrics are currently formally and informally in place by web development organisations.
- The percieved value of project measurement processes
- The maturity of project management approaches to performance measurement and project cost estimation
- The applicability of benchmarking to web development environments
The survey is open to all involved in project environments developing web applications ranging from graphical web presence sites through to advanced management support or customer transactional applications.
