So what’s to love? When all my monitors have every single graphic leaning forward for more, I can actually read every single word on my legal pad from yesterday, the spreadsheets are singing, all the developers are busy with work through the next month, all my passwords work, there’s coffee in my coffee cup and a bagel next to it, every application pops when I click on it, the network hasn't crashed all day, the phones are ringing at a pace that makes you feel like a broker on Wall Street, every person on every call needs your help and you can provide it within seconds, the hours and duration really do add up, the status reports are finished, there are no more risks to mitigate, no issues to answer, the team applaud (well once they did), the forecast and budget have aligned and the PMO director just walked right past your desk without one question. Yea some days it just flows. That's when you love it. The rest, not so much. Saving Changes...

I love being a project manager for so many reasons!
1. I love planning! And then seeing my project flow through that plan. A lot of times there are minor (some major) detours, but we get to the end and everyone has a feeling of accomplishment once the project is complete.
2. I love the feeling of satisfaction when a project is complete. Some projects are more difficult than others, some stakeholders more difficult than other, in the end, regardless of how difficult, there is a feeling of satisfaction that you were able to lead a project through to completion.
3. I love celebrating the accomplishments of the team. I love watching the joy each team member feels when they have accomplished all they have committed to.
4. I love lifting up the team and giving them hope when things seem hopeless.
5. I love seeing the joy and pride that project owners have when the project they proposed is complete and implemented.
6. I love being a leader and the trust people have in me.
7. I love the challenge of a difficult project. I love it when a project is successfully completed when initially it seemed so impossible.
8. I love statistics. I love reporting on a project and figuring out all the #s.
9. I love that each project we complete I see my team learning and getting better.
10. I love the variety being a project manager gives to me. Saving Changes...

I only have about 7 years of project experience so far. During these exciting 7 years, I have been involved in projects concerning the following subjects (the below list is not comprehensive):
- Industrial manufacturing
- Banking
- Agriculture (production of wine, production of honey)
- Sustainable production of household goods
- Event management
- Environmental economics
- Disaster recovery
- Regulatory compliance in the financial industry
- IT software deployment
There is no other profession that provides exposure to so many diverse fields. Project Management builds your confidence and lets you know that with enough effort, you can learn about anything and accomplish the most complicated objectives. Saving Changes...

I am IT project manager and I love about project management because:-
1. I can have a chance to know other business area by delivering IT projects there. e.g. I can come across from oil & gas fields, to market research, resort hospitality to banking finance industries & etc within a 10 years duration.
2. Project management is about planning and executing. I like to plan and executing to see the outcome.
3. I like to learn about people. As a PM, the chances to liaise with multiple stakeholders are higher than others role regardless to internal or external party.
4. I like the feel of being make things happen. For example, the resort opening day after the sweat and tear of project delivery, the bank opening or the new launching of application and post live support work afterwards.
5. I like coaching and leading team members to successfully deliver project.
6. PM, someone who able to see the overall of the project/program objective from a boarder view.
I discovered that I loved logic as well as creativity, these two being poles apart. Still I enjoyed solving complex problems but also when I was stuck with no way forward, I would tend to be creative and brainstorm new ways out of the situations. All my life I had been practicing my passion without direction. Project Management gave a name to my passion. Now I know how systematically I can juggle around with known and unknown and use my IQ and EQ interchangeably. At the end of the day, you have a satisfaction, a sense of accomplishment and an urge to more and better the next day. It is a continuous journey towards perfection and I am always excited about it, never bored. Saving Changes...

For me I have been more passionate about Indian Administrative Service , IAS , though being a Civil Engineer. I could not achieve IAS as I planned it too late. Even my attention towards Project Management study and hence certification also happened accidentally.
But after the preparation and achieving PMP® certification , I realized that this is the right choice I have ever made. Now , I have the choice of multiple field of studies and career growth , which was not so earlier being an experienced Civil Engineer in Project Constructions.
Now I feel it relevant to me whenever I find various topics on Automobiles ,Medicine , Health Care , Space Science , Financial Markets etc.even Politics also, from various sources ! That is why I started to connect with the members in this Project Management Dot Com Forum as much as I can.By doing this networking , it has got mutual benefits to the connecting member as well as myself too.
More yet to learn and give it back to the Society & Communities in the years to come ... That's my love for Project Management !!!
I love project management because I love projects.
