To be of any worthwhile assistance I'd need to get a better understanding of what you're about. What is the type of business, locations, type of hiearchies that need modelling? There are some typical approaches to the modelling but some structures offer more challenges. Saving Changes...

The business is insurance. The hierarchies are primarily for reporting purposes. Users want to be able to roll up locations along different hierarchies - it can be based on geographical location in which case the lowest level is 3 levels deep or financial (profit center) in which case the same lowest level is just 1 level deep Saving Changes...
