I need to describe internal processes performed by my department. I especially like the simplicity of ITTO format used in PMBOK (Inputs, Tools and Techniques, Outputs) so I thought of using the same approach for my processes.
Now I am looking for a tool to do that... and cannot find any. My requirements are quite simple: I need to be able to enter multiple processes, connect outputs with inputs and finally render chart with all the data.
If I am understanding your question correctly, the tool that I use to draw process maps, flow charts, etc. is Microsoft Visio! Saving Changes...

Thanks Ayat for your fast answer.
At first sight the potential drawback I see is that there is no "ITTO" shape available. I am not sure if it is possible to create one that will allow to both store dynamic number of inputs and outputs, and in addition precisely link them between various processes.
It is possible to add separately each input and each output as separate "Rectangle" shapes and group them together but I am still hoping for a tool that can do more.
For the same reason I rejected Power Point that technically could do the job as well. Saving Changes...

I think you can use Data Flow Diagram (DFD) to create your process map Saving Changes...

To meet your request and needs; "keeping it simple" can be done in an Excel table. It's the the software that will make this successful, it;'s how you present the information and a simple table will suffice. Saving Changes...

This is so cool and timely! I just started a volunteer position and need to create process flows. I am very familiar with Visio (unfortunately the company does not have it!). I never knew Excel could be used for process flows. Any pitfalls or tips for the new user?
