It is wonderful to see that the CEO of PMI, Mark Langley, recorded and released a short video about ethics. Here is a link to it on the PMI website: http://www.pmi.org/About-Us/Ethics/Code-of-Ethics.aspx

But why now? What is going on in PMI, and in the project management profession, that resulted in someone at his level taking the time for this topic?

Michael,
Attention to detail is essential and ethics is the core of professionalism. Many times things like ethics tend to become a commodity and lose emphasis within the big picture. Yet, a consistent reminder of its importance to the profession, and our reputation as thought leaders, will bring back to the forefront of our consciousness. And having the CEO address the issue demonstrates commitment at the highest level.

I appreciate the work you, and the Ethics MAG, does to maintain not only the awareness of, but the application of, appropriate behavior within people who claim to be a part of my profession.

I just watched the video, it is an excellent effort and I personally appreciate the effort everyone put on this as this shows commitment to the PMI at all levels top to bottom and vice versa.

On another note, eithcs are core values which should be maintained at all times otherwise this profession will be corrupted big time. I Emphasizing the ethics and its importantance as part of the quality management as maintaining high good ethics in a project is a good quality practive and total quality management TQM is part of it which involves all the organization on different levels and in IMHO, this is what the CEO has done, he is reminding everyone of the ethics which is a great approach and part of the TQM of the whole organization. The social responsibilities and ethics part of PMBOK is very clear and detailed, of course you can add many other things but they would fall under the main categories mentioned by PMI.

Great effort, keep it up and it would be great if we share these videos in this community. If it wasn't for Michael's post, I would have never known about it.

I had already seen the video of Mark Langley's videotape of the PMI Code of Ethics. I was tired of looking for this recording and unfortunately I did not find it. Why did you delete the video?

I have been a member of the PMI Portugal Chapter since 2013. I have attended all the commissions promoted by the Chapter. I have never attended an intervention on the PMI Code of Ethics. Why, despite my insistence, do they not address this issue?
