Personal advice questions are always impossible to answer and you have to answer that yourself. It all depends on your aspirations. If you want to grow your career in project management then any additional education / learning will be good. What is the Benefit to Cost Ration - tough to answer.
One point to highlight here - I know many of the PMP advocates may think the PMP can help end global warming and world hunger but it is just a basic certification in project management. Therefore, IMHO, a master degree in project management can expand your horizon since you can get into more depth than a PMP boot camp course will offer you.
The challenge is that the master in project management has to be from a reputable university and not a university that just following a business trend.
You know - you can do a great deal of self learning as well.
That is my humble and professional opinion. Saving Changes...

Besides high valuable Mounir comment above, there is something it is hard to understand for me: how an university could seriously offer a master or doctorate in project management? If you ask me, you have to take training in business administration (MBA), finance or something related to strategy but related to project management you can take training in regular courses. And remember: the best training is the practice, at least in this field. Saving Changes...

I personally would do both the PMP and Masters in Project Management but in campus, not online. Masters of Project management online is not useful at all as when talen in campus, the interaction between like-minded colleagues is what gives this program value and benefit.

Rami I agree with you, yet depending on the online deliver method, you can reach an in class experience but of course this depends on your budget and time.

Hi Rami,
I did my Project Management Certificate through University of British Columbia a decade ago. They had an online and classroom version. I chose the online version and can say they found ways for extensive collaboration and sharing of ideas through forums and other tools. It was a highly valuable course, though done online, for me.

I gained my PMP before going into my MBA degree and I had the option to do a course in Project Management but the professor said if you have a PMP it's not necessary to take the course. At the end of the day though, a masters in project management would probably cover more than PMP and in England, PRINCE2 is the more recognized certification for project management

I never tried online courses before but you have a point. I usually prefer in class courses.

PMI too has few online trainings , not sure though how good / worth they are.
How is Coursera? It seems most cost effective considering my limited availability in an already busy schedule..
Any opinions please...

I attended other courses on Coursera and I find it very useful and well designed.
I know that there is the following specialization:
but I don't have attended it yet. Anyway I think that these courses can give you a basic and theorical knowledge but if you want to deepen the subject I think that is more useful to take a Master in campus or enroll in a PMI Chapter that give you the opportunity to share practical knowledge as someone has suggested in another thread.
