Sharique,

Check the below discussion threads and I believe you will benefit a lot from them and will address your concerns 100%:

PMP Sample Exam References!

PMP Adventure!

PMP is the advance level of CAPM. If you do not have the amount of working hours of experience required to sit for the PMP, you can do the CAPM then apply later on for PMP. However, CAPM expires after 5 years and you will have to do the exam again while PMP doesn't but you have to maintain your credential by earning 60 PDU's every three years cycle. Within these 5 years, you can do the PMP for sure if you are working and then you do not need to worry about the CAPM.

Hope this helps.

Hello.

If you meet the requirements, I recommend you to take the PMP exam, better than the CAPM. You have to take into account that you need also 35 hours of project management training mandatory for PMP, but I don't know if it is the same for CAPM.

Rita Mulcahy's book has been very successful as a support book, as well as the exam simulator (FASTrack PMP Exam Simulation). I think the simulator is a great help to assess whether or not you are prepared for the test.

I hope my comment will help you to decide.

Hello Sharique,

please refer to the follwing guides which should containa lot of helpful information for you:

In addition i would like to invite you to our website

where you can find a lot more information and resources.

Because i used it by myself for PMP preparation, i recommend you the “PMP PrepCast by Cornelius Fichtner”.

It is a fully prerecorded (nearly 140 video and audio lessons!), self-paced online training course which also provides you the 35 contact hour certificate, which you will need for your PMP Application.

You may have a look here: ? http://goo.gl/KUPFBG

To get a glimpse of what you could await, there is a free version available also: Free Prep Cast -
http://goo.gl/xyXTT5

Besides this course the guys from Prepcast.com offers also some more, very helpful tools for exam preparation like a formula guide (http://goo.gl/l0RFj8 ) for instance.

Another great tool which helps me a lot is the "study coach" (http://goo.gl/lFkvBn) which works like your personal PMP Preparation Navigating System.

And last but not least they also have a professional exam simulator in their portfolio which would provide you 1.800 high quality and realistic sample questions for exam training AND – even more important! – exam SIMULATION.

Practice would be the key and you should do as many sample questions and exams as you can. To have a look for the simulator: ? http://goo.gl/wP9Crj

You may try it out before you invest – here is the trial version: ? http://goo.gl/mNa1Dw

Please do not hesitate to ask any further questions.

Kind regards,

I would recommend Career Academy (http://bit.ly/2fnjzjJ) for PMP and CAPM training and exam prep courses. They have a good price for their annual membership and they are PMI Registered Education Provider (REP). Career Academy is an institution that offers online on-demand video-based learning solutions for IT Networking, Cyber Security, Project Management and Office Professionals. You can prepare for the certification exams by taking courses from Career Academy.

Overview of CAPM and PMP CAPM is an entry level certification for people who are working in projects. CAPM is awarded on the basis of knowledge contained in the PMBOK Guide. You can easily pass the CAPM exam, if you study the PMBOK Guide well and learn about the processes & ITTOs. PMP is an advanced level certification for people who have experience of are leading & directing projects i.e. they have managed complete project(s) or part of project management team. PMP is mostly based on PMBOK Guide but not entirely on it. It is based on Project Manager's role as defined by the PMI. Most of the PM role definition is covered in the PMBOK Guide. PMP tests the aspirants on the application of PMBOK Guide's concepts (Processes & ITTOs) and hence it is much more difficult than CAPM. CAPM Requirement There are 2 ways to fulfill the requirement to appear in the CAPM Exam: * Option 1 - You need to have high school diploma or global equivalent with 1500 hours of professional experience on a project team * Option 2 - You need to have high school diploma or global equivalent with 23 contact hours of formal education. PMP Requirement There are only 2 requirements to apply for PMP: 1. Project Management Experience 2. 35 hours of Project Management Education Project Management Experience You need 4500 hrs of experience if you have done 4 years of degree (bachelors degree or equivalent). Other wise if you have a diploma of equivalent then you need 7500 hrs of experience. The PM experience should be in a leading & directing projects. PM role is mandatory before applying for the exam. However, PM role is not equivalent to PM designation/title. PM role means that you should have managed full or part of a project. Your role in the project could be of PMO Executive, vendor management, team management, client management etc. The projects could be related to any industry. They could be big or small, technical or non-technical etc. PMP or CAPM? If you have the relevant experience then I would suggest that you should opt for PMP. Otherwise you can go for CAPM. If you want to do CAPM, just join an online course (for mandatory 23 contact hours) and study the PMBOK Guide. It should be enough. Contact Hours for CAPM You can look at my recommendations & discount coupons in the following articles: * Top Udemy Courses * Simplilearn Coupon Code If you are willing to spend a little bit more money, then I would suggest enrolling into On-demand course by Christopher Scordo Contact Hours for PMP You can get PMP training in 3 different modes: 1. Regular classroom training 2. Online classroom training 3. Self-learning online training Classroom Training Classroom course are the best for learning provided the trainer is good. If you want to do a classroom training, then you should find the best trainer in your city. The trainer is more important than the institute. An aspirant remains in contact with the trainer for 4 days, institute has very little role during these 4 days. If the trainer is not good then 4 days & the money goes waste. It does not mean, institute is not important. A good institute would provide comprehensive study material & good post workshop support. But first find out few good trainers, look at their linkedin profiles and talk to them. Classroom course are usually most expensive. The classroom training can range from $200-$2500 depending on your geography/country. If you are living in South Asia, a classroom course will cost less than an good online self-learning course. Online Classroom Training These courses are good if you need a defined training schedule with some flexibility. These are better for learning than self-learning courses but not as good as classroom courses. These are more expensive than self-learning courses but somewhat less expensive than self-learning courses - the cost can range from $200-$2000. The prices of 6 popular courses are mentioned in the comparison article. Self-learning Online Training These courses are good if you have got good self-discipline & self-motivation. If you decide to do a self-learning training, then you should read the review & comparison of popular 6 self-learning training courses - PMP Online Training Course. You can save a lot of money by taking a good self-learning course - the cost can range from $200-$400. The prices of 6 popular courses are mentioned in the comparison article. This guide gives complete information about PMP Exam, including: - Eligibility Criteria for PMP Exam - Pros & cons of different modes of training - A good PMP exam preparation schedule - Recommended study material for the exam prep All the best.

If you are actually preparing for the PMP exam the following information might be useful for you.

I have written a blog about the timeline to become a PMP this year, before the exam will change based on the upcoming new PMBoK Guide.

This blog shows a sample timeline when you should have started if you want to assure to have the option to go for all three attempts if necessary.

Please find the article here:

https://www.projectmanagement.com/blog-pos...change-in-2018-

or alternative on LinkedIn:

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/your-timeli...pmp?published=t

The graphic is better there ... ;)

In fact, you should start right away ...

If you are searching for a proper online course (which provides also the needed 35 contact hours for the PMP exam application) then please have a look at another blog from me:

https://www.projectmanagement.com/blog-pos...Pass-First-Time

I have used this one by my own and from my perspective it is probably the best prep course available out there.

They do offer a great bundle package this month where the course is bundled with their also great simulator for a really nice discount.
You can't get more value actual!

If you are in the final zone of your preparation you might just need a good simulator to validate your knowledge and to assess your exam readiness?!

Well besides the great simulator by the PrepCast team there is another good option to go for, the simulator by PMAspire.
And they do also offer a nice discount this month; please have a look here:

https://www.projectmanagement.com/blog-pos...or---up-to-15--

And please do not hesitate to ask any further question you might have in the context of the PMP exam preparation.

Regards,

Markus
