In my experiences of working in a virtual environment, it has proven priceless and it should be stressed to SHARE the times for meetings when dispersed globally across various time zones.

How does the Tuckman model differ, if at all, in a Virtual Environment? I see the Tuckman model as not addressing the entire team as it would for colocated members.

Incidentally, I was researching on that too and found the book Virtual Teams: Reaching Across Space, Time and Organisations With Technology by Lipnack and Stamps. This is a very comprehensive book. They modify Tuckman’s seminal model of team development so that it can be applied to virtual teams. The new model still incorporates the initial period
of inefficiency that occurs directly after formation that Tuckman described, but shows
virtual teams achieving a level of effectiveness in less time than traditional teams. Take a look at that one and tell me what you think.

I would have to answer yes as was mentioned in the Webinar, technically, you could be considered virtual if you are located on different floors of the same building. I am anxious to see how others answers too.
