Why do some people succeed and others fail? Most people think grit is purely about basic tenacity and persistence. There is a notion that some people get ahead because they are simply gifted, or well-connected, or both. However, research shows that talent and intellectual ability are greatly overvalued in our culture. GRIT is about what goes through your head when you fall down, and how that mindset—not talent or luck—makes all the difference.
How do you apply GRIT to three leaders mindsets for enhancing influence and accelerating results. Let's talk about how to use a GRIT analysis to gain action clarity to achieve your goals. GRITTY mindsets are being outward-facing, emotionally intelligent and conversationally flexibility.
GRIT: Growth mindset Resilient Instinct Tenacity

That is one of the benefits of project management.
Given that each project is unique, there is an element of newness and difficulty that is inherent in each one.
Working on any project forces you to think, learn, and grow. Saving Changes...

This is so true... like Will Rogers once said,
"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there."
Grow or get flattened... obstacles are only FEEDBACK indicators. Saving Changes...

I have always believed that saying to don't have talent, intellectual ability or good connections are only excuses that people that don't succeed use to justify their failure.
Talent does not exist. Hard working, tenacity, grit and will to grow are the mindset to succeed.

Paolo - well said. Developing our talents for the greater good can be challenging... that is where hard work, tenacity and GRIT help a PM to succeed. Hope to meet you and talk more in Barcelona.
During the press conference to announce NOKIA being acquired by Microsoft, Nokia CEO ended his speech saying this "we didn't do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost".. The message of this story is, if you don't change, you shall be removed from the competition.

WOW! GRIT is commonly applied at the personal level. Your post shows what can happen when an organization fails to be GRITTY.
