Which project management specializations have the most employability and is it necessary to have related certifications, e.g., change management / business transformation, etc? Thanks.

It depends on the industry and line of business but for example PMP, PBA and some other similar certification applies to all industries and it is an asset to have them for sure.

Specializations depends upon your present conditions. There may be many answers based upon that. However PMP is best in all cases for any project management practitioners.

Hi Pankaj - Thanks for your response. I already have my PMP and was thinking of additional credentials since I just renewed my certification and have to fulfill the PDU requirements.

Ronit --- are we considering change management and business transformation as project management now?

These are independent domain that is much wider than project management in certain aspects and in other aspects PM is much wider. They intersect but they are not the same.

One can have an (organizational) change project using the principles from project management and change management. The same for transformation.

Hi Mounir - Thank you for your perspective. I realize that these are different disciplines, but since my background has been in digital since the dot.com inception and I have had experience with change management, process improvement, etc. I am figuring out how to fulfill my PDU requirements and add to my credentials. Thus, I am looking at trends and employability factors.
