In the US, a PE certification, Professional Engineer, might be appropriate considering your job title. Or perhaps Certified Quality Engineer, CQE.
It's hard to say without knowing your education, employment experience, and the responsibilities of your job. Which might explain why others have been reluctant to reply to your question. Saving Changes...

Basil,
looks to me as if your work might be characterized as program management: you are in charge of multiple projects, which together serve a common purpose (and a joint customer, plant management). The purpose is not only to deliver outputs (exchanged parts) but to ensure outcomes/benefits are ensured (like downtime reduction). Integration between the projects is necessary, understanding stakeholder requirements (e.g. for different segments in the plant) as well as alignment of the maintenance program(s) to overall plant strategy.
If that roughly fits to what you have at least 5 years experience in, you could try to go for the PgMP. Saving Changes...

PE will not work for him because in this type of work - he would not be involved as an "Engineer" doing design work or similar. Plus PE in this region is of value if a person works for a consultant (engineering contractor) even then it might not be required. Saving Changes...

From the description and my personal background in this industry, his job will not be program management; He is not managing multiple projects but helping in planning. Saving Changes...

Based on what you posted and what I know (I have spent more than 15 years of my life in a similar industry). To grow, you can expose yourself to many topics, depend on where you want to grow into.
If certification is important to you; you can consider Risk Management, Planning (AACE offers certificates here); Quality as John suggested, Green Project Management. You may also want to learn about Asset Management (not sure what certification exists here). Saving Changes...
