How has the PgMP certification helped you with your job, career etc.? Given the elaborate certification process and costs involved, I am looking for insight on the difference PgMP made for you (especially if you were already PMP certified prior to PgMP). Saving Changes...
Hi Samuel, Just to give my background I am having total 9.7 years of IT experience and have worked in different domains Retail, CPG, Manufacturing, Banking, Pharma and Telecommunication. I have successfully completed my PMP certification on last year September after putting a good amount of effort and time. After PMP certification still I am playing the same role as Technical Lead in my current organisation. Frankly speaking the PMP certification did not accolade by my organisation to move to the next step till yet. As our higher management thinks that they will decide who will appear for the PMP certifications and personal aspiration will not come into picture. So, cut the story short I have not get any professional benefit till the date, as present Indian market it's difficult to move to the next role as there are lot of different parameters popping up concurrently in between. But definitely PMP certification help me to understand the knowledge of Project Management and will helps Project Managers to work in most structured manner. If you are already in the Project Management role it will definitely help you to map your current way of working in more organised way(input/tool/output) and the most important thing PMP will teach you to talk in common language around the world. I hope my feedback will help you to appear in PMP certification. All the best!!! Saving Changes...

Hi Samuel,
the PgMP I got in 2014 after retirement helped me in these ways
1. learning for it extended dramatically my knowledge and understanding of program and benefits management, as projects continue to go wrong, even if they deliver in time&budgets, I believe they should be run a programs
2. there are not many companies that understand and look for that knowledge, most are still struggling with traditional and technical project management, so it is a small market for PgMPs, but if you have a client you can excel
3. with still less than 2000 PgMPs, you can say that a PgMP is a unique and rare animal - if you want to stand out, go for it Saving Changes...
