As project success leads to realizing organizational objectives, I would like to know do organizations striving for achieving goals and objective have "Project Management Center of Excellence" as their one of the main vertical service ?

Do PMO play the same role in your organization ?

Hi Saurabh,

If you have a PMO that operates across the whole organisation, then of course it should be part of their mandate to increase project management capability and maturity.

It would be a bit more difficult for a PMO operating at project level. They wouldn’t necessarily have the budget nor bandwidth to deliver an initiative on that scale, but could definitely contribute to it.

Personally, I have always seen a PMO as being synonymous with a PM Center of Excellence within an organization.

That should be part of the PMOm in my opinion. Not always possible I know
