I am not sure if I am correct, but I have read somewhere that some PDUs may be claimed based on developing PM tasks. Does anyone have more information on this topic and how it works? (i.e. maximum number of PDUs, approval route, etc.)

additionaly i want to say that there is also a max. of 5 PDUs per year for this option.
That means, do not wait to claim these 8 PDUs in the 3rd year of the cycle nor try to claim the whole 8 PDUs in the first year.
You can do 5 in the first and the remaining 3 in the 2nd or 3rd year or you do it 3/3/2 or whatever, but not more than 5 per year and not more than 8 per cycle.

Working as a practitioners is somehow different than webinars and contributions as far as I know. For everything else other than working as practitioner, 1 Hr = 1 PDU but for working as practitioner, you can claim only 8 PDU's for the whole 3 years cycle - Hope this explains. Saving Changes...

The following document: https://www.pmi.org/-/media/pmi/documents/...ts-handbook.pdf states: "You can claim Working as Professional PDUs once per certification cycle."
Does not this mean that you actually can report 8 points at once and only once per cycle (3 years) and you must not divide it into 5/3 or 3/3/2?

That's totally correct i just reported 8 PDUs and got them all approved in seconds.

Thank you everyone for your prompt reactions. I just applied for 4 PDU in Giving Back-Practitioner category and have already gotten them approved (less than 60 seconds between submitting them and getting the approval). A bit bizarre, no?

No, not bizzare. Some are immediately approved by system, other might take a day or two to process. You're Fine.
