I am not sure if I am correct, but I have read somewhere that some PDUs may be claimed based on developing PM tasks. Does anyone have more information on this topic and how it works? (i.e. maximum number of PDUs, approval route, etc.)
Thank you in advance for your prompt reactions Saving Changes...

Hi Bro,
Yes..the approval seem simple. But as PMP certified, we already agreed to obey all the code of conduct. Thus, by right they trust your honesty instead to check the details i.e. evidences. But, don't take it for granted, kindly ensure keep all your evidences for all the claim PDUs on you own. Even can be your reference for the future.
Can I claim PDU for the period of the year before my certification date? or I can only count my work days towards PDU after my certification date?

Unfortunately, Syed, you can only earn PDUs after you've earned your certification. That means, only time spent as a practitioner, after your certification date can count.

That's correct. I agree. I had PDUs earned before the certification, unfortunately these couldn't be claimed.

For those who had registered using the pmi online, it is easier for us to register all our PDUs. Even the approval quite fast, please take note that PMI wikl always can conduct an audit for those who submitted the claim of PDUs. Those worth to say, as PMP practitioners, we have to uphold the integrity and honestly. The PDUs intention is to ensure we continuously improve ourself. Saving Changes...

Absolut correct (as usual ;) );
additionaly i want to say that there is also a max. of 5 PDUs per year for this option.
That means, do not wait to claim these 8 PDUs in the 3rd year of the cycle nor try to claim the whole 8 PDUs in the first year.
You can do 5 in the first and the remaining 3 in the 2nd or 3rd year or you do it 3/3/2 or whatever, but not more than 5 per year and not more than 8 per cycle.
The following document: https://www.pmi.org/-/media/pmi/documents/...ts-handbook.pdf states: "You can claim Working as Professional PDUs once per certification cycle."
Does not this mean that you actually can report 8 points at once and only once per cycle (3 years) and you must not divide it into 5/3 or 3/3/2? Saving Changes...
I have a query to this forum: I want to report the PDUs for working as professional for my PMP certification cycle. But during this 3 yr time, I have switched organisations. So, how do I report them and on what criteria should 8 PDUs be split up? Saving Changes...

Recall that if your renewal date is prior to Dec 1 2017 you still fall under the old rules of a maximum of 15 pdus for Giving Back/Practitioner at 5 per year.
It is only if your renewal date is after Dec 1 2017 that you fall under the maximum of 8 pdus for work as a practitioner. Saving Changes...

I am still uncertain about the exact answer to claim the 8 PDUs.
1. I renewed my certificate in 2016, so my next renewal date is 2019.
2. During my last renewal, I claimed 15 PDUs as "Working as Professional", which result as total 60.75 PDU.
3. Because of #2, now I have 0.75 PDU in this renewal cycle.
My questions are
1. Like Krzysztof mentioned above, in the handbook it states "working as professional" can only be claimed once. Does that mean I am being punished by claiming too many PDUs in the last cycle?
2. I understand the maximum PDU can be claimed as "working as professional" is 8 PDUs. However it's still unclear how many hours in practice equals to 1 PDU. In the old rule, it's straightforward that you have to work 50% or more in a year (6 month+) in PM field in order to claim full 5 PDUs, but it does not mention how we can claim these 8 PDUs in the new rule.
