You can use the DAD methodology on this web site to generate a WBS. However some of the task in the methodology are useless or redundant (this depends on your particular project). I would be glad to help you get a WBS.
I also have various working files from past projects which may be of use.
I'd appreciate to get a sample as well of a typical WBS for an Event Planning ... I am doing a school assignment which will be to organize and host a convention in the city (2-3 day convention) and I need to device a WBS for it.

Look into Microsoft website for sample Projects at Microsoft Project application. They have several samples in the form of MPP. You need to have a MS project installed in your system or probably you can import it to Excel as CSV Saving Changes...

I have some docs that might help as they make a pretty good starting point for web projects. If your "web" project is going to be more of a traditional enterprise application that is browser based, then I would stick with the traditional software development plan, like what comes with Project or available on the MS web site Office templates.
